technical criteria and guidance documents for sanitary engineering including design
manuals, pamphlets and bulletins, construction guide specifications and standard drawings
used in design of Army and Air Force projects worldwide.
---Managed Corps sanitary engineering criteria development, including water/wastewater and
solid waste disposal, and provided technical input for the Criteria Update Program to
ensure that Military Construction documents conformed to latest environmental and
engineering standards.
---Reviewed sanitary designs, studies, reports, contract drawings and specifications
submitted by the three Military Services, A/E Firms, and other Government agencies to
ensure compliance with appropriate environmental and engineering standards.
---Evaluated Army sanitary engineering deficiencies, recommended research and development
initiatives to solve critical problems, and monitored work units established under the
Corps of Engineers Research, Development,
Test and Evaluation Program.
---Reviewed scopes of work for Army sanitary engineering projects in the Military
Construction Program to ensure that environmental concerns were addressed, and that design
components were adequate.
---Managed Corps environmental
restoration criteria development, including hazardous, toxic and radiological waste
remediation, and ordnance and explosive waste cleanup, and provided input for the Criteria
Update Program to ensure compliance with Federal, state, and local environmental laws and
regulations.
---Served as HQ proponent for the Corps Innovative Technology Program, and provided input to the development of annual budgets
specifically designed to enable USACE Divisions and Districts to execute their respective
roles and responsibilities in the Corps-wide implementation of innovative
